Quick Tip: Ice cube substitutes!

Ever run out of ice cubes when you are in the middle of prepping either iced tea or some sort of iced cold drink (ahem…sangria)? Use frozen fruits! I tend to always have some sort of frozen berry in my freezer (usually strawberries or blueberries) as it never hurts to have on hand in case you need to whip up some breakfast muffins or a crisp. Well here is another reason to keep frozen berries readily available – they can be used as ice cube substitutes! I was making iced tea the other day and realized that I had forgotten to freeze some ice! DOH! Well then I saw the bag of strawberries and thought – why not! They not only iced our tea but added a nice added sweet flavor (without adding sugar). 🙂
